The Weekend….Learning….A Good Link….

Hey Kids….
Well the weekend is two thirds over….with Monday being a Holiday here in the states.
Yesterday I got invited by a group of friends to go to a wine festival in Southern Illinois. Known as the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail Fall Festival ( http://www.shawneewinetrail.com/index.htm) it was a great time and a great day! Southern Illinois has a great deal of small winery’s that are located in the rolling hills of the Shawnee national Forest. As you can see from the pics I posted yesterday we had a good time. My favorite wine was actually apple based and not grape based and was called Orchard Spice. It is an award winning wine from “The Pomona Winery” which has many other fruit based wines….more semi-dry to desert.
Friday morning a friend messaged me at work very early and asked if I had caught Kidd Kraddick talking about his divorce. I did have that [...]

Free Music: How to guide

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by on 31-08-2008

Downloading music for free is a sure fire way to polarise any crowd of people.  The ‘pro-share’ crowd have no moral dilemma and the ‘pro-buy’ well … do.  Both crowds having interesting pro’s & cons which I will get to later.  But for the ‘pro share’ crowd who desire full albums not just Limewire singles this is for you.
In easy steps here we go …
1. Download a RAR expander.  For Windows users:http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250_4-10007677.html For Mac: http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Compression-Tools/RAR-Expander.shtml this is free of charge.
2. Go the Google Blog Search: Very simple - Google.com, then up the top click on more and go to the blog search.
3. Type in the artist and album, which will take you to a list of blogs.  These blogs do not host the mp3 file but will direct you to a filesharing site.  Rapidshare or megaupload are reliable links so DL from here.
4. It will take a short amount of [...]

4 astor pl., noho (at broadway)
tel. 212 420 1322
open monday to saturday, 10-11; sunday, 10-10
It’s 11:56 in the pm. Why do I say it like that? I suspect you wouldn’t know, for I hardly know myself. And by that I do not mean that I don’t know myself; merely, I don’t know why I choose to say the time like that. End of story? Agreed. What I do know in its entirety is that the David Bowie discography that is currently being downloaded via BitComet 1.02 is 93.4% finished. Now it is 93.5% or 89.25mb left to download. It’s been downloading for the more generous part of today and I am fairly pleased at it’s progress, particularly since it started off at 20something per cent today.
Today while I was downloading David Bowie’s plentiful pile of pure heaven, I was also downloading the John Lennon Anthology. This was further [...]

“There’s no place like this”

Ontario Tourism has been running this campaign for over a year, and I still love it.
The commercials feature the same song, which is remixed in different styles and performed by different Canadian artists.
Brilliant because:
- it’s a consistent message spun for different targets
- the campaign has longevity: the song doesn’t get stale or annoying because it’s remixed every season
Especially brilliant because Ontario Tourism produced the song instead of borrowing one from elsewhere.
So when people wonder “what’s that song?” and go searching for downloads, they’re brought right back to Ontario Tourism. On their website, you can watch the commercials and download MP3s of the mixes, with some versions also available as ring tones.
This campaign, however, does lack a full track: you can only download whatever snippets you hear in the commercials.
Think Joe Fresh. This past winter, when their “Mixed Up” ad became a hit, they extended the song for the downloadable version. [...]

I like watching the puddles gather raiiin.

It’s getting chilly again. I’ve been spinning and painting like a madwoman lately, as I’ve mentioned.. but I have pictures now to prove it!
Here’s the most recent painting I’ve completed, and I love it. I can’t decide, though, whether to keep it, try to sell it in the gallery or try to sell it through etsy.. and how much to sell it for. I custom framed it at work all fancy, I like it.

The idea was of a bird that flies around the planets bringing night to the sky. The one I’m [...]

Dan Black Has Got Me HYPNTZ-ED

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by on 31-08-2008

Don’t even bother trying to argue with me about the whole Biggie vs. Tupac thing, because Biggie wins—hands down. But now there’s a new factor in this seemingly endless debate, tipping the scales even more in the Notorious B.I.G.’s favour, and it comes in the form of a scrawny, British hipster electro artist named Dan Black. Black’s cover of Biggie’s Hypnotize is so hypnotizing that I’m about thisclose to asking him to father my children. Someone needs to give this guy a record deal, ASAP.

I love me some good rap that pushes you to the limit.  Here is a remix of Jedi Mind Tricks by Enigmatiko, Brazillian DJ.  Well good shit.  He made this one quite some time ago but I still play it like it is the new shit.  The ones after are some of his more recent work.  Be sure to check his MySpace page…
